and places to see those things

oh hey

Third person bio, coming at ya: Ethan is an actor/writer living in Brooklyn, NY. Recently Ethan starred as SpongeBob in SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway, directed Tina Landau, for which he won Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, TheaterWorld Awards (and others) and earned a Tony Nomination. And soon, he will be seen in Assassins at CSC as The Balladeer and Lee Harvey Oswald. As a writer, he has a number of pieces in development including the musical Edge of the World and a bunch of other stuff. You can check out his music on Spotify or wherever and... let's see... I mean there's definitely more, but what should go in a short bio? Right? Anyway, thanks for visiting! Feel free to look around!

On July 11th, I will be performing a night of new music at the JCC - including the release of my new EP entitled "Wanderer" (with Mike Dobson). Get tickets here!

I'm releasing the first single from my musical film "Write Me In" on 2/5/2019! It's called "Richmond Rewrites." Check it out on Spotify, iTunes, etc or by clicking the link below

"Write Me In" is a film with music following two brothers, both writers. Seth is a singer-songwriter whose career has stalled; Luke, an aspiring novelist who, since his cancer diagnosis five years ago, has only had the energy to write in his therapeutic journal. When Seth's writer's block hits it's fifth year, he ends up using the words out of Luke's journal as lyrics to write his new album. At it's core "Write Me In" is about the appropriation of someone else’s story for personal and professional gain. "Richmond Rewrites" is one of the first moments where Luke's lived experience becomes Seth's music.

TodayTix presents a concert of my music on January 12 at the W Hotel. Featuring friends Nick Blaemire, Lilli Cooper and Mike Dobson. Most of the music will be from Edge of the World, a musical about growing up in rural isolated Alaska and using imagination to cope with loneliness. Tickets are currently sold out online, but look out for more.

Coming 2019

Created with Allan K Washington, and produced by Vasthy Mompoint, Roasted is a new project about one man's day at work at a coffee shop in gentrifying Brooklyn. I directed this short, and we are now in post-production. Excited to share in 2019!

May 2012 - September 2018

After 6 years of development and an amazing broadway run, SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway has come to an end. I learned more from this project than anything else in my life. It helped me cultivate my deep love for physical comedy, my appreciation for approaching any project with passion and creativity, and introduced me to life long friends and collaborators. I cannot thank everyone involved, from producers to crew to fans, enough. SpongeBob forever.
